Earlier this year, faced with the challenges of Covid-19 and arduous tasks of resumptions of work and production, NHI deeply implemented the unified command deployment of the Party Central Committee, the State Council, Party Committees and governments at all levels fighting against the Covid-19. In accordance with the instructions by the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Mr. Fang Wei at the epidemic prevention and control special meeting, more than a thousand employees stuck to their posts during Spring Festival and made full efforts to guarantee the production of major projects and products as sintering machine for Ling steel group, TBM for Taizhou city railway, cutting shear for Jiujiang Pinggang, Fangda special steel, Anhui Conch as well as stacker&reclaimer for Guizhou Dushan, which laid a solid foundation for winning the battle of epidemic prevention and control and resumption of production.

In order to speed up the progress and ensure the delivery time, NHI resumed production on February 10, focusing on both epidemic prevention and control as well as production and operation. NHI had arranged the key projects and the production of major products in an orderly manner, and steadily increased product output. Facing the severe condition, NHI made a quick action in response to the epidemic challenge. Marketing staff applied such cloud office methods as internet and Wechat to communicate, negotiate and consult with the clients, by which a great number of new contracts had been signed. At the end of March, NHI successfully achieved a general contract of annual capacity of 5MT fine aggregate project for Gansu Huajian new material Co.,Ltd., which was absolutely a new breakthrough in the aggregate complete set business. At the end of April, a sales contract of 4 sets of EBZ240 boring machines was signed between Zhejiang Yunrun coal mine engineering Co.,Ltd.and NHI, which further accelerated the layout development in the field of innovative and efficient tunneling construction in coal mines.
The Technology R&D team firmly followed the markets, took the clients as the center, and accelerated product technology updating and new product research and development. The technical transformation and upgrading of two sets of 6.48-meter-diameter EPB tunnel boring machine for the South extension line of Shenyang Metro Line 2 further established the leading position of NHI in the TBM market. HLS-415 new type sintering annular cooler, 1000t/h aggregate production line and other new developed products have become important supports for NHI to create new economic growth points, with huge social and economic benefits.

In the converter transformation project of Sichuan Dagang, the field installation was very complicated and difficult. NHI had selected the best professional technical personnel in the enterprise, such as welding and NDT, to perform the installation at site. The on-site installation personnel followed the production arrangements of the clients and carried out "cross year" operation, which lasted for 34 days, and successfully completed the converter project site installation, and finally achieved the acceptance from the clients. These personnel with strict working attitude, great enthusiasm and superb technology abilities, had appraised and affirmed by the clients. And a letter of thanks had been sent to NHI by the clients.
On May 15, Zhaizhen Coal Mine of Xinwen Mining Group held the underground installation ceremony of coal mine NO.1φ4.53m full section semi-coal mine rock tunnel boring machine. To better serve the clients, NHI dispatched the best capable service team in advance, going underground for investigation and measurement, making the downhole installation plan, coordinating with client for the preparations of the lifting and transporting equipment of large pieces available at site, which ensured the success of the installation of coal mine NO.1 tunnel boring machine underground. Professional technology of the technicians at site and their satisfying services had won high recognition and praise from the clients.
Reduce Cost, Increase Efficiency and Promote Development in An All-round Way
In cost ,every cent is worth saving. Under the impact of epidemic, employees of NHI treated the enterprise as their homes, with the concept of cost reduction deeply rooted in everyone’s heart. The outcome of cost reduction has kept on expanding, and greatly promoted the enterprise’s development.
On the basis of 3-month continuous profiting, the automobile steering system branch has more refined management and more in-depth cost control. Through daily cost accounting, the branch had made a reasonable adjustment of procurement plan and adopted centralized procurement, which had reduced the procurement cost by 70,000 yuan. By optimizing the assembly process, the assembly operators were reduced by half, but the work efficiency was greatly improved.
R&D Institute and engineering technology branches had made achievements in optimizing the product design and removing redundant functions by means of three-dimensional software, strength calculation and other design means. In the design process of medium-sized apron feeder for Qianyang conch, long belt conveyor project for Guizhou Jinxing Dushan 4500t/d cement production line, and energy conversion system upgrading project of Laiwu branch of Shandong Iron and Steel Co., Ltd., the design cost was reduced by more than 100,000 yuan and the cost rate was reduced by 15% through optimizing the design scheme, product structure and configuration. More than ten optimization and cost reduction projects under implementation are expected to achieve cost reduction of more than 1.63 million yuan.
As a major energy consumer, the heat treatment plant deeply explored the potential cost reduction in the terms of management, technology and operation, and the energy consumption per 10,000 yuan output value dropped by more than 20%.
